Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management, Mangalore was established in 2007 under the aegis of Bhandary foundation at mangalore. The college is affiliated to VTU & AICTE and approved by the Govt. of Karnataka & HRD Ministry, Govt. of India. It has excellent facilities for academic, sports and cultural activities. The faculty members comprise of doctorates and post graduates from IITs, NITs and other reputed institutions. The project activities, seminars, paper presentations and workshops are included in the curriculum in order to help the students gain more experiential learning. The institution regularly invites experts from industry and academia for interaction with the students and conducts the orientation courses to the students.

The institute building is architecturally conceived to provide natural light and air circulation keeping in mind the coastal weather conditions. The main entrance is at the north-east corner and the total built up structure of the main building is about 350,000 square feet with spacious class rooms, laboratories, administrative offices, separate common rooms for boys and girls. The building has been aesthetically designed with four courtyards at the four corners.

Industrial Production Engineering branch was started in the year 1982. The department offers Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Industrial production and engineering and it has an intake of 30 students per year

Electrical & Electronics Engineering branch was started in the year 1980.The department is under the affiliation of Visvesvaraya Technological University.
The present intake of students to the department is 60. The Department has well equipped laboratories and experienced staff to guide the students in their academic activities



Electronics & communication Engineering branch was started in the year 1981. The department was under the affiliation of University of Mysore from 1981 to 1992 & under Kuvempu University from 1992 to 1998. From 1998 onwards the department is under the affiliation of Visvesvaraya Technological University.
The present intake of students to the department is 120.The Department has faculty strength of 28.The students from different parts of the country are studying in the branch.

Environmental Engineering

The department was started in the year 1996 and was affiliated to Kuvempu University from 1996-1998. Now the department is affiliated to VTU Belgaum. The department has an intake of 30 students. It has highly qualified and experienced teachers with reputation in their areas of specialization. The department offers a full time B.E. Degree course in Environmental Engineering field and has been excelling in activities for the past eight years.
Apart from conducting academic programmes, seminars, workshops, training programmes are conducted for students, as well as for faculty members. A number of consultancy works are also being carried out. The department has signed ‘MoU’ with few leading consultants and companies to develop institution industry interaction for the benefit of students.






Computer Science and Engineering

The department of Computer Science and Engineering is established in the year 1986. It was affiliated to the Mysore University till 1992 and Kuvempu University during the period 1992 to 1997. At present it is affiliated to Vishvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum. The alumni of the department are working in various reputed organizations in India and abroad. The department is accredited twice by National Broad of Accreditation, New Delhi.

It started with an annual intake of 30 students; gradually it has developed to accommodate 120 students in a year today. The department has well qualified, experienced staff members to train the students in their academic pursuit of excellence. The department has well equipped laboratories with state-of-the-art computing facilities. The students of this department have consistently performed well in the university examinations. Several university ranks have been scored in the erstwhile Mysore and Kuvempu Universities.

Facilities include Internet access, EDUSAT for the satellite based learning, most modern seminar hall and departmental library with adequate number of books, journals and magazines.

The counseling is conducted for the benefit of the students to discuss personal and career problems. Academic progress report of the students is monitored and communicated to their parents.
