The Mangalore Institute of Technology and Engineering (MITE) was established in 2005. The institute is affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum and approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. Presently the institute is not only known as a strategic educational hub but it also offers its students good placement opportunities.

The institute is Placed on the Mangalore - Sholapur Highway, it's about 30 kms away from Mangalore and about 4 kms short of the town Moodabidri.
